TNA iMPACT Results: 1/10/08

We get a brief montage from Final Resolution, brief enough so that we have no real idea about the results, except that AJ Styles sided with Kurt Angle, and Robert Roode somehow injured Sharmell Huffman. And onto the show...

We catch Robert Roode in the parking lot, where he's questioned about breaking Sharmell's jaw. He claims it was an accident, and we roll the opening credits.

Senshi & Elix Skipper vs. Motorcity Machineguns
We start off with Skipper and Senshi doubleteaming Shelley with elbows and a knees until Senshi covers for 2. Don West and Mike Tenay talk about how Team 3D cheated to beat MCM, and meanwhile, Senshi hits a flying kick to Shelley's face, and covers for 2 more. Snapmare, front facelock, and as Shelley fights for a tag, Senshi takes Sabin off the apron. Skipper comes in, but Shelley fights them both off and makes the tag. Sabin comes in with a flying dropkick to Skipper, and tosses Senshi into the corner. Shelley takes Skipper to the outside, and Sabin goes to the top, but Senshi boots him in the head. Superplex attempt, but Shelley breaks it up. Skipper runs in, but Shelley tosses him into Senshi, and they hit a double dropkick. Skipper is spilled to the outside, and Senshi takes a few mean looking doubleteam moves before getting the crap kicked out of him and pinned.
Motorcity Machineguns def. Senshi & Elix Skipper
Christian Cage heads down to the ring as MCM leaves, and he tosses out Senshi and Skipper. Cage grabs a mic, and makes a statement toward AJ Styles. Styles faked Cage out at the PPV, then cost him the championship against Kurt Angle. He gave Styles all he's had, and tonight, it's going to be taken back.

In Jim Cornette's office now, and Chris Harris is groaning about not being recognized. Cornette books him against Judas Mesias...next! Harris leaves, and now Samoa Joe stomps into the office. Kevin Nash walked out on him during their tag match, and Joe promises he's going to "handle things" tonight.

Parking lot time, and we see the Angle Alliance arrive. Kurt Angle tells Styles that tonight he's going to be officially inducted into the Alliance, and he'll be "Prince" AJ Styles. Commercial land.

When we return, we're in the Angle locker room. J.B. warns Styles about how Christian Cage is after him, and Styles asks Kurt about it. Angle tells him not to worry about it, and to get dressed up for tonight...so Styles asks Karen. She tells him pretty much the same thing, and when there's a knock at the door, he hides behind her. Tomko comes into the room to "make sure AJ's still in one piece". Styles and J.B. leave with Tomko, and we move on.

Judas Mesias w/ James Mitchell vs. Chris Harris
The bell rings...shortly after Mesias dives on Harris and stomps him into the mat. He tosses Harris into the corner, chops him for a while, then whips him into the ropes. Harris gets a kick in...before getting clotheslined out of his boots. Bulldog from Mesias, and he climbs to the top rope. Harris dodges a splash, and gets in a few punches before a diving clothesline! Spinebuster to Mesias, and a cover for 2. He hits a bulldog of his own, and tries for the Catatonic, but James Mitchell distracts the ref and Mesias spits the mist into Harris' face. Straight to Hell, and it's over.
Judas Mesias def. Chris Harris

Backstage with Ms. Brooks! She's being challenged by Robert Roode, who's challenging her to a match. She's scared to death, but she's planning to go out and fight him anyway. Again, we're at commercial.

Upon returning, we're given a montage of the Gail Kim/Awesome Kong match. Kong beat the snot out of a referee for making a two count, then while trying to do it again, Kim rolled her up to win.

Voodoo Kin Mafia w/ Roxxi Laveaux vs. Petey Williams & Sonjay Dutt
This one starts with Kip James and Dutt. Dutt offers a hug, but James locks him up and tosses him into the corner. Williams hits the ring, and they apply a double arm wrench, but Kip powers out. They return by dropkicking his knees, and he makes a tag to BG. Williams tagged in, who greets BG with a series of kicks, and they bring us back to commercial.

Afterward, we see Kip James pinning Williams for 2. Backbreaker...and we see Scott Steiner sneak down to the ring. He swaps his briefcase with Williams', then runs away. James tries a stalling suplex, but Williams slips out and tags in Sonjay. James eats a dropkick, then so does BG. Dutt takes a facebuster from Kip, and Williams notices the case switch-up. Williams runs to the back, and as VKM try to doubleteam Dutt, then accidently hit each other, and Dutt gets the pin.
Sonjay Dutt & Petey Williams def. Voodoo Kin Mafia
After the match, Sonjay kisses SoCal Val again...uh oh. VKM argue in the ring, until Kip grabs a stick and demands to know who BG's tag partner will be for the championship shot.

After another commercial break, J.B. and AJ Styles are hiding under a desk from Christian Cage. Eric Young crawls under, telling Styles to go to the park. There's a crowd there, and Cage wouldn't be able to pick him out of that many people. Styles and J.B. hurry off, and we're hurried into a Team 3D/X-Division montage. That cuts to show Team 3D and Johnny Devine in the ring. Brother Ray gets a stick, and after bragging about beating MCM and Jay Lethal, challenges them to a Street Fight. If they can beat Team 3D, X-Division gets their belt back, but if they can't, the X-Division is finished.

Samoa Joe stomps around backstage, and grabs Kevin Nash. Nash spins around with a baseball bat, stating that he'll fight Joe, but only if he gets payed for it. He talks to Joe a bit, pointing out that he doesn't need anything Joe has, and hands him the bat. Joe pulls back, but doesn't swing, and Nash leaves as we're taken back to commercial.

As all Mike Tenay interviews are, this one is taped. Tenay is with Booker T, who confirms the broken jaw of Sharmell. We're shown the footage from the PPV, where Roode tried to dive on Ms. Brooks, and Sharmell grabbed him from behind. He spun around and dropped her, no more, no less. Booker T tells Tenay he blames himself, and once Sharmell gets out of the hospital, Booker is going after Roode. Moving on.

Robert Roode comes out with a stick, and addresses Booker T. He has no sympathy for Booker or Sharmell, and blames Booker for what happened. He moves on to Ms. Brooks, and fires her as his manager...but still wants to knock her around. Brooks comes out with a stick of her own, telling him to shut up. She admits to being scared, and calls him "a prick named Bob." Roode calls her a few dirty names, getting her pumped up, and as he goes for her, Jim Cornette hits the ring. He's not going to allow any of this, and calls Roode disgusting. After breaking Sharmell's jaw and almost beating down Brooks, Cornette threatens to let Roode go...but won't, because he wants to see Booker slap Roode around. Brooks tries to leave, but Roode's weird psycho chick jumps her and hits her with a chair. Roode grabs the chair, using it to chase off Cornette, and introduces the psycho as Ms. Banks. Matt Morgan comes out of nowhere to break it up, and we're seeing some fine advertising.

J.B. reports from the Universal Studios park, where AJ Styles is dressed up like a masked pharaoh. Styles has to leave however, to get dressed for his coronation tonight.

Jimmy Rave & Lance Hoyt vs. LAX
This one starts with Hoyt and Hernandez brawling, until Hoyt attempts a suplex. Hernandez reverses, and hits one of his own. Tag to Rave, who's greeted with a back drop. Tag to Homicide, who gives Rave a belly-to-belly suplex. Rave tags Hoyt, who brawls with 'Cide until Hoyt hip tosses him across the ring. Cide escapes a body slam and hits an Ace Crusher, and both men make tags. Hernandez throws Rave across the ring, takes him down with a shoulderblock, and tags 'Cide. Doubleteam splash, followed by a backbreaker/senton. Cover for 2, which is broken by Hoyt. Hernandez tosses him out and goes after him. Rave fights out of the Gringo Killer, only to take it anyway. Cover for 3.
LAX def. Jimmy Rave & Hernandez

More commercials, and we're in the back with Tomko. When asked about Styles, Tomko states that he doesn't really care.

Sharkboy vs. Tomko
Sharkboy, still very injured, charges in with his crutch. Tomko big boots him, then clotheslines him in the back of the head. Military Press into a fallaway slam, followed by a torture rack neckbreaker. Pin for 3.
Tomko squashes Sharkboy
Security carries Sharkboy out on a stretcher, and Tomko shakes his head.

Karen Angle and AJ Styles hang out in the men's room, and Karen asks J.B. to take off so she can get some "quality time" with Styles. She lays on the seduction, running her hands over him and telling him to rise above everyone and everything. AJ gathers his confidence and charges out before we're commercial-bound again.

Kaz is in the back now, and he's kidnapped Black Reign's mouse. He challenges Reign to come get her back, and we're pushes along out into the arena to see Kurt Angle makes his entrance with Karen and Styles. There's a throne in the ring, and as Kurt Angle introduces him, Styles takes a seat. Kurt places a crown on his head, and he becomes "Prince" AJ Styles. Kurt goes over how Styles made the choice to join the Angle Alliance over Christian Cage, and how he even misled Cage and destroyed his chances for the championship. Cue Christian Cage.

Cage comes out with a stick, adding that he had Angle in his own Ankle Lock, tapping out. Tenay and West agree, but Cage moves on to "Prince" AJ. The crowd begins to chant "Princess AJ", and Cage demands that Styles man-up. Karen whispers something in his ear, and he announces that he's not taking any more garbage from Cage. Cage takes a few shots at Karen, and AJ jumps to defend her, challenging Cage. Cage takes the odds, prepared to fight both Kurt and AJ...until Samoa Joe steps out. Joe demands a title shot from Kurt Angle, and Styles defends Kurt on the mic now. Cage gets Joe's attention, and they agree that the Angle Alliance needs a good beating. Before the good part, Jim Cornette enters. He agrees with Joe and Cage, and just because he wants to see Styles get owned, he books Cage vs. Joe vs. Styles for the #1 contendership of the TNA Heavyweight Championship. If Styles wins, he has a choice to be #1 contender, or give Angle two months payed vacation. Everyone seems happy, and we're returned to the commercials we're so fond of.

TNA Women's Championship: Awesome Kong vs. Gail Kim
Kong comes to the ring with a Muslim woman, which is a little odd. Kong rushes Kim, who dodges and throws Flair chops like crazy. Kong keeps no-selling until she drops Kim to the outside and bangs her head off of the steel stairs. Kim kicks Kong away, then dives on her, and they brawl up the entrance ramp. Kong irish whips Kim into a wall, then misses a running splash that sends her through. Kim crawls toward the ring, and the commercialize us.

Back, and Kong smashes Kim into the ring apron before rolling her inside. She slams into Kim with her body, then sets her on the top rope. Kim fights back with some biting, then hits a tornado DDT off the top. Cover for 2, and Kim moves on to the mounted punches before climbing back to the top and coming off with a senton. Cover, and 2 more. Kim screams in frustration, then kicks at the Muslim. She turns into a chokeslam from Kong, who covers for 2 of her own, then misses a splash. Kong blocks a punch, then hits a Tiger Driver ...for 2! Kong sets Kim up for the Powerbomb, but Kim slips out and dropkicks Kong before trying a hurricanrana and taking a Triple Powerbomb instead. Kong keeps her down, and gets the 3 count!
Awesome Kong def. Gail Kim to become TNA Women's Champion

WWE grabs TNA athlete...

GERWECK.NET has learned that TNA mainstay “Wildcat” Chris Harris, a member of the multiple time tag team champions America’s Most Wanted, has signed with World Wrestling Entertainment. Apparently Harris’ contract with TNA expired last week, and despite the company wanting him to stay, Harris agreed to terms with WWE.

I'm not too surprised, considering TNA didn't appear to have a plan for him. Unfortunately, I don't think WWE will either. I've been wrong before, though...

WWE Raw Results: 1/7/08

The Raw Roulette returns tonight! But before that, we're given a recap of the Triple H/Ric Flair battle that ended with William Regal punching Flair in the face to disqualify Trips.

We're live now, I'm Regal's office. Vince McMahon comes in, hyping up tonight being the first Raw of '08...and unveils the Roulette wheel! Moving on, Regal explains that taking Triple H out of the Royal Rumble was to redeem himself for not hitting Hornswoggle. Vince books Regal/Triple H as a reward...AND SPINS THE WHEEL! First Blood Match! Regal walks out of his office, and the second he's out the door Trips dives on him and pummels him until security pulls him away. Opening credits.

Just before this next match starts, after Shawn Michaels and Ken Kennedy enter the ring...Vince comes on the Titantron...AND SPINS THE WHEEL! Strange Bedfellows Match? Apparently, Michaels and Kennedy have to be partners now...and we go to commercials before we see the opponents.
Strange Bedfellows Match: Shawn Michaels & Ken Kennedy vs. Charlie Haas & Trevor Murdoch
Okay, this stipulation apparently refers to two teams that have never teamed before, and likely never will again. We come back from commercial to see Kennedy get knocked out of the ring by Michaels before HBK attacks his opponent, Charlie Haas. Haas is thrown over the top rope, and reaches under the ring to put on a strange mask. He pretends to be a super hero and ducks a clothesline from Michaels. Michaels takes one from Murdoch, and Haas tags out. Murdoch comes in with an atomic drop followed by a big boot and a cover for 2. Tag to Haas, and they hit a backbreaker/elbow drop combo. Cover for 2 more, and Michaels breaks away for a tag, but Kennedy pulls away. Suplex from Haas, but Michaels reverses, pulls off the mask of Haas, and hits a shoulderblock. Atomic drop, a right hand, and a body slam lead up to Michaels going to the top rope! Flying elbow connects, and Michaels hits the Sweet Chin Music on Murdoch, knocking him to the floor. He hits it on Haas, but Kennedy tags himself in and hits the Mic Check on HBK. Kennedy covers Haas, and it's over.
Ken Kennedy & Shawn Michaels def. Charlie Haas & Trevor Murdoch
Kennedy trash talks HBK a bit before leaving, and we're back to the advertising.

Trading Places Match: Carlito w/ Santino Marella vs. Hardcore Holly w/ Cody Rhodes
This one means you have to dress up as your opponent, and come out to their music. Carlito dressed as Holly is great, but Holly dressed as Carlito is AWESOME! Holly sports an enormous afro, and is loving it...until Carlito pounds it off of him. Running elbow to Holly, followed by stomps, and a snap suplex. Cover and 2. Carlito whips Holly into the corner, pulls him out, and hits a back body drop. Another cover, and another 2. Mexican stretch applied to Holly, but Hardcore fights to his feet...and takes a neckbreaker. Carlito misses a big chop, and Holly uses it as an opportunity to pound on Carlito until giving him a back drop and a dropkick to the FACE! Santino gets on the apron to distract the ref, but meanwhile, Holly bites the apple and spits it in Carlito's face! Alabamaslam, and Holly covers for 3.
Hardcore Holly def. Carlito
Holly puts the afro back on to pose after his victory.

Backstage again! McMahon and Maria spin the wheel for Maria's match...and she gets a submission match! But Vince ruins it all, and changes it to a bimbo fight. Back to commercials, until we return to get a hype video for Randy Orton/Jeff Hardy, and a brief message backstage from Hardy stating he'll take Orton O-U-T. Then they tell us Hardy's fighting Umaga in a Cage Match later...And we're continued to be rushed along at light speed, and McMahon is in front of the wheel with Hornswoggle and his mic doesn't work. They cut the segment half-way through, and J.R. apologizes until we're back to commercials.

Bimbo Pillow Fight: Melina vs. Jillian Hall vs. Maria vs. Mickie James vs. Ashley
This one isn't even worth calling. I'd adore for WWE to take female wrestling seriously.
Ashley def. Jillian Hall, Maria, Melina & Mickie James

We're in the back again, and Hornswoggle is apparently trying to recruit a partner for a tag match tonight. He tries to talk to Super Crazy, but Crazy will have nothing of it.

First Blood Match: William Regal vs. Triple H
Regal's looking mean, and I actually believe this might not be a squash. Regal charges in at the bell, but Triple H pummels him to the outside. He bashes Regal's face off the steel steps, and Regal sneaks out the brass knuckles. Trips grabs him to bash him off the announce table a few times before he goes back to the steps. Trips throws the stairs, but Regal dodges and slams HHH's head into the ringpost. Regal misses a nasty kick, forcing him to stumble, but comes back quick enough to smash Trips off the steps a couple times. Both men roll into the ring, and Regal stomps against the forehead of Trips and hits a scoop slam. Regal moves on to the turnbuckle pad, untying it and exposing the steel bolt beneath. They trade punches until Regal gets the Game up and pounds him into the exposed turnbuckle. No blood yet, so Regal drives a few lefts into him. Trips blocks a second attempt at the turnbuckle, and creams Regal against it THREE TIMES, before hitting the KNEE to FACE and going for the Pedigree! Regal reverses though! Regal tosses HHH into the corner, and charges in, punting Trips in the face. He walks out of the ring now, picking up the brass knux he dropped. He rolls back in the ring and charges in for the punch, but Triple H counters with a spinebuster! He mounts Regal, and nails about a million right hands until he draws blood.
Triple H def. William Regal
The Game adds a few blows after the bell for good measure, and hits the Pedigree. As he's leaving, he wipes out a cameraman and we're in commercial land again.

Backstage! Hornswoggle is trying to recruit Santino Marella, and fails even harder than with Super Crazy. They move us on to a Chris Jericho/John Bradshaw Layfield feud video...and we see the man himself! Chris Jericho comes to the ring for his match, and Vince starts spinning the wheel as we're back to commercial.

Handicap Match: Chris Jericho vs. Snitsky & John Bradshaw Layfield
How do they still expect us to believe these are random? The bell rings, and Snitsky stomps on Jericho before Jericho's footwork comes into play and Jericho hits a series of running moves before taking a clothesline. A few more stomps, followed by a throat toss. JBL stand on the apron like a tool, and after Jericho dodges a big boot, he dropkicks Snitsky out of the ring. JBL comes up from behind, and Jericho/JBL brawl to the outside...until JBL clocks Jericho with the ring bell and throws the ref into the guard rail.
Chris Jericho def. JBL & Snitsky by DQ
JBL bangs Jericho against the ringpost, then chokes him with some of the industrial cable. He drags Jericho around by it, going up the entranceway onto the stage. He pulls Jericho to his feet, then slams him off of the guard barricade before dragging him some more. He lays a few boots to him, and the crowd starts up the "Y2J" chants before JBL uses the cable to actually try to hang Jericho from a pillar. Referees hold him back, but no one cares about the cable around Jericho's neck. Commercial time.

The Highlanders vs. Hornswoggle & a jobber
The jobber acts crazy, but that doesn't help put him over any...but before the bell rings, Mick Foley comes to the ring! Foley tells the jobber to book it, and replaces him!
The Highlanders vs. Hornswoggle & Mick Foley
We start with Foley and...Hairy Highlander. Foley drops him with a running right hand and covers for 2 before tagging in the little man. Hornswoggle dropkicks Hairy in the face a couple times until he tags in Bald Highlander. Foley comes in to get Baldy off of the little man, and there's a tag. Foley traps Baldy in the corner, delivering a crazy number of right hands, and a running knee before he drops Hairy off the apron. Baldy jumps him from behind until Hairy comes back, and a tag is made. A few double team blows to Foley, and Foley escapes a double back drop to pitch Baldy out of the ring. Foley brings out Socko as Badly comes back, and gives it to him briefly. Double Arm DDT to Hairy, and a tag to Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle hits the Tadpole Splash, and it's over. Apparently, these two just qualified to for the Rumble.
Hornswoggle & Mick Foley def. The Highlanders
Hornswoggle tries to throw Mr. Socko into the crowd, but it flaps down to the outside of the ring, dejected. The Steel Cage, floating above the ring starts to lower, and they give us commercials before the main event.

Steel Cage Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga
Considering Hardy beat Umaga to get that Intercontinental Championship, I'm not worried...until Orton feels the need to appear. He makes his complete entrance, music and all, just to stand outside the cage and make us wonder if he'll slam the cage door on Hardy near the end of the match. Bell time.

Attempted lock up from Hardy, but Umaga drops him on his face. He bounces Hardy off the ropes, clocks him, then misses the bonzai drop. Hardy grants him a dropkick to the chin, hits a jawbreaker, then takes a big boot from the no-selling machine. Umaga throws Hardy in the corner and tries a splash, but Hardy escapes and Umaga eats cage. hardy dropkicks him, almost knocking the door open, and Hardy covers for 2. He bounces off the ropes, and Umaga tries a back drop, but Hardy catches himself on the cage and almost climbs out! Orton screams to Umaga, who pulls him back down, and we go to commercial.

Back...and Umaga is using the Nervehold on Hardy. I don't think anyone has ever tapped or passed out to that, so why keep trying? Orton eggs him on from the outside, and Umaga pounds a few elbows into Hardy's skull. Another back drop attempt, and this time Hardy smacks into the cage. Umaga gets him between the ropes and the cage, and after banging his head against the cage, splashes him. Umaga covers, but Hardy gets a foot on the rope! Orton, flipping out now, tosses a few chairs into the ring. Umaga grabs one, and as Hardy stands, he pancakes him with it. Cover...and Hardy kicks out! Umaga starts climbing the cage, giving Hardy time to stand, and crotch Umaga on the top rope! Hardy sets up a chair, and uses it to hit the Poetry in Motion on Umaga! He pulls Umaga down, and attempts the Twist of Fate, but Umaga escapes and pitches Hardy in the corner....where he dodges the butt splash! He CHUCKS a chair into Umaga's face, then DDTs him onto the set-up chair! Hardy moves toward the door, opens it...and yes, Orton slams it on his head. Umaga throws an arm over him for the cover...and HARDY KICKS OUT AGAIN! Umaga stands, shaking off the pain, and sets Hardy up for the Samoan Spike...only to be given the Twist of Fate! He climbs the cage, but Orton is waiting for him! Umaga stands up...and Hardy dives off backwards with the Whisper in the Wind from the top of the cage! He covers Umaga...1,2,3!
Jeff Hardy def. Umaga
Hardy poses at the top of the cage, and has a great STAREDOWN~! with Orton until we go off the air.

TNA iMPACT Results: 1/3/08

Tonight goes off with a highlight video from last week, showing off all the current feuds. Afterward, we see J.B. standing outside of AJ Styles home in Georgia. He enters, meeting different people of Styles' family before talking to AJ through his bedroom door. He asks who Styles is going to align with, and Styles refuses to answer. J.B. refuses to leave. Opening credits.

We're in the ring with Jim Cornette and Matt Morgan. Cornette announces that there are going to be four gauntlet matches to determine the division rankings. He starts talking about the next Pay-Per-View, and enter Samoa Joe. He gets on the mic, pointing out that he isn't on the PPV card, and hasn't been granted a title shot after taking everyone out. Kevin Nash time! Nash tells Joe that he had no right tearing into Scott Hall, though he reminds Nash of the younger Outsiders. He tells Joe that Joe doesn't quite have that level of fame yet, and Joe tells him straight up it's time to move aside, or be pushed. They get in each other's faces, and Cornette books Samoa Joe & Kevin Nash as tag partners for a Tag Title shot.

Backstage, Robert Roode is questioned about his mixed tag match at the PPV. Roode & Ms. Brooks vs. Booker T & Sharmell. Roode tells us he's got no problem beating a woman, and Brooks tells him that she absolutely hates him. Roode forces her to say, "It pays to be Roode", and we're at commercial.

Back to Team 3D with Johnny Devine in the back. They briefly mention the tag gauntlet, and move on to the Ultimate X match until Johnny Devine accidently compares Devon to a monkey. Team 3D leaves as Voodoo Kin Mafia enters. Kip and BG James argue while Roxxi Lavaeux stands in the back looking adorable. Moving on.

Tag Team Gauntlet: Lance Hoyt vs. Kip James
These two start the battle, and Hoyt drops Kip with a shoulderblock. He comes back with a dropkick and tries to through Hoyt over the top, but eats a big boot. Hoyt motions for an elimination, but Kip fights out with a neckbreaker. ENTER BROTHER DEVON! Devon takes both men out with lariats, but James delivers a kick to his torso. As Hoyt clotheslines Kip out of his boots. Hoyt and Devon doubleteam Kip until...ENTER ALEX SHELLEY! Shelley charges into the ring with a top rope shoulderblock to Hoyt, but Devon takes him down with a few elbows. Shelley comes back with a knee to his gut, but Devon reverses into an inverted DDT. ENTER HOMICIDE! Cide hits the ring at light speed punching everyone, and as Kip James charges him, he tips Kip over the top rope. KIP JAMES ELIMINATED! Hoyt stands on Shelley's face, and Devon chokes Cide with a knee. ENTER JIMMY RAVE! Rave pounds Cide in the face, and Devon moves on to Shelley. Hoyt and Rave try to eliminate Homicide, but he fights back with stiff uppercuts. ENTER BG JAMES! BG comes in at everyone, dropping all but Devon. He whips Devon into the ropes, then catches him with a dancing punches to eliminate him! BROTHER DEVON ELIMINATED! Shelley tries to tip BG over, but fails. ENTER BROTHER RAY! Ray takes his time coming down, arguing with Devon. He finally enters the ring and dives on Alex Shelley before randomly attacking everyone. ENTER CHRIS SABIN! Sabin enters with a flying clothesline to Ray, then dropkicks Rave in the face...and a dropkick sends BG over the top! BG JAMES ELIMINATED! ENTER HERNANDEZ! Hernandez comes in at both Hoyt and Rave with a double clothesline. He nails a finisher looking move to Rave, then back body drops Ray. Hoyt jumps him from behind, and Ray clotheslines Shelley over the top. ALEX SHELLEY ELIMINATED! Sabin charges Ray, but takes a lariat from Hoyt. Ray gives Rave a Rock Bottom, and Sabin comes up from behind to chuck him over the top. BROTHER RAY ELIMINATED!...And they give us commercials. -_-

When they comeback, we're already in the second phase. Motorcity Machineguns and fighting Rave and Hoyt. MCM pretty much goes crazy with doubleteam moves until Shelley pins Rave.
Winners: Motorcity Machineguns
With no hesitation, Johnny Devine hits Sabin from behind. Team 3D hits the ring, giving a 3D to each man. Devine slides a table into the ring, and they set it up. Devine and Devon holds the hands of MCM on the table, and Ray canes their hands...UNTIL the X-Division hits the ring! Team 3D runs off, but the damage is done.

Backstage, Kurt Angle is being asked about how the backing of Styles and Tomko can affect the outcome of his championship defense against Christian Cage. That's laughable to Angle, who's offended at the thought that he could drop the title. Moving on, we're back at commercial.

J.B. talks to Styles' third grade teacher for some reason, and she brings up his bad skin for some reason. Styles argues with her through the door, denying that little tidbit, and we're back in the arena.

Women's Gauntlet: Angelina Love vs. Ms. Brooks
I think Brooks has lost every match she's been in since the face turn, so I don't have much hope for her here. The bell rings, and Brooks knocks Love into the corner with a kick. Irish whip across the ring, but Love kicks her away and hits a chop across the face. Love nearly pitches Brooks over the top, but Brooks fights her off long enough for...ENTER JACKIE MOORE! Moore comes into the ring and drops Love before giving her a double underhook slam and trying to shove her over the ropes. Instead of working together, the bimbos fight over who will eliminate Love. They start to brawl and...ENTER VELVET SKY! She hits the ring just in time to save Love. They hit a double snapmare on Brooks, then a double drop toe hold on Moore. They try to eliminate Moore as...ENTER CHRISTY HEMME! Hemme comes with a crossbody that takes out both Sky and Love. Moore and Brooks choke Love as Hemme pulls Sky's hair into a reverse DDT. She misses a leg drop and ENTER ODB. ODB bodyslams Brooks, then gives Moore a fallaway slam. Brooks charges at her, but gets chucked out, as we expected. MS. BROOKS ELIMINATED! ENTER ROXXI LAVAEUX! Roxxi punts ODB across the ring, then hits a series of elbows and a samoan drop. The Voodoo Queen tries to eliminate Moore, but ODB pulls her away. ENTER AWESOME KONG! Kong gets in the ring, and goes after everyone one by one, eliminating both Christy Hemme and Velvet Sky. CHRISTY HEMME AND VELVET SKY ELIMINATED! Love tries to charge Kong, but gets pitched out. ANGELINA LOVE ELIMINATED! At the most crucial point in the match, they give us more commercials. Wonderful, guys.

Back to see everyone pounding on Kong. Triple dropkick, but Kong won't fall. They give her two more, and she almost tumbles over the top! They all work on lifting her....and DUMP HER OVER! AWESOME KONG ELIMINATED! Go Roxxi! As soon as I say that...JACKIE MOORE ELIMINATED! Roxxi starts a little voodoo dance, but ODB drops her with a clothesline. Roxxi comes back by driving ODB into the corner and sets her on the top rope, but ODB goes for the Dirty Dozen! Roxxi reverses and slams OSB off the top. Powerbomb/spinebuster, and a cover for 2. Roxxi whips her into the corner, but eats a boot, and takes a Thesz Press off the top to be covered for 3. Doh...
Winner: ODB

Backstage, we're with Tomko. He wonders if he's suddenly turned into AJ Styles. He'll go to the ring, but he's not going to bow to someone. He's demanding respect, and the "demanding" of his allegiance ends now.

Tomko stands in the ring moments later with a stick, and tells Kurt to come out for his answer. Kurt comes down with Karen, and when he enters the ring, he demands that Tomko give him an answer. He gets pretty short with Tomko, and Tomko replies by slowly building momentum into asking himself, "Would I take a bullet for you or Christian Cage?" Tomko tells him flat out, he'd take a bullet for Tomko, and his feelings wouldn't be hurt if Angle and Cage ate a few bullets. Angle tells him he doesn't agree, but he can respect it. They shake hands...and Angle charges! Tomko catches him by the throat with one hand, and lets him off with a warning...that the next time that should happen, Angle's neck will be broken.

We're in Georgia again, and J.B. is talking to Styles' high school wrestling coach. The crazy coach starts telling a story about Styles wrestling a girl and wetting his pants before the match. Styles opens the door this time to argue, but slams the door after having the last word. Commercial time again.

We're still at the Styles' household, and J.B. is with AJs sister. She starts telling a story about catching him doing something naughty when they were younger, and he cuts her off, asks for a sandwich, and disappears again. Cut to Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt backstage. They're a little tense about Dutt kissing SoCal Val. Dutt offers a kiss to Lethal, and chases him off camera. Here comes Christian Cage. Cage says he's proud of Tomko, but he's still wondering about Styles. he moves on to Angle, and calls him out for later in the night.

X-Division Gauntlet: Sonjay Dutt vs. Petey Williams
Commercials right off, even before the bell. WE come back to see Williams and Dutt dueling with elbows, and Dutt comes off the top rope with a guillotine legdrop. Williams comes back with a spin kick, and...ENTER SHARK BOY! Shark Boy is almost covered in bandages, and powerbombs Williams off the top rope, while he was trying to suplex Dutt. Sharkboy chucks Williams over the top, but Williams catches himself and runs into a neckbreaker. ENTER ELIX SKIPPER! Skipper comes in with a kick to Shark Boy and a facebuster to Dutt. Everyone stomps Devine when he comes in, but he manages to fight them off all, and eliminates Shark Boy. SHARK BOY ELIMINATED! Williams dropkicks him in the spine, and they doubleteam him until...ENTER SENSHI! They hold Devine for Senshi, and the three of them pass him around. Dropkick and...JOHNNY DEVINE ELIMINATED! Dutt hits a flipping hurricanrana to Senshi, and pounces on Williams, but his momentum carries him out. SONJAY DUTT ELIMINATED! Senshi kicks Williams into the mat, and covers for 2. Rear waistlock, but Williams busts out. Before he can make a comeback, he eats a nasty clothesline, but hits a mean knee to Senshi's chest. He tries the Canadian Destroyer, but is taken down. Senshi tries the Warrior's Way, but Williams catches him and hits the Canadian Destroyer. 3 count.
Winner: Petey Williams

Backstage, James Storm and Jackie Moore talk about drinking. He challenges Eric Young to a 2/3 drinking contest at the next PPV, and before this really gains any momentum, we're hustled into advertising time.

Back to Styles again. J.B. asks the same questions over and over again, and suddenly, he's talking to a Catholic Priest. Styles comes out quickly to tell us all he's a Baptist, and the Priest admits he has the wrong man. Back to the arena.

Booker T and Sharmell are backstage talking about Roode and Brooks. Booker's angry about the match, but Sharmell is all for it. Not much here, and we're back to seeing "Rambo" commercials.

Heavyweight Gauntlet: Booker T vs James Storm
Matt Morgan is out there for no apparent reason, and the bells rings. Storm punches Booker into the corner, whips him across the ropes, and eats a boot. Booker takes control, and ENTER ROBERT ROODE! Storm and Roode pound Booker into the mat, and he stays there until the next countdown. ENTER ERIC YOUNG! Young pairs off with Storm, and we go to commercial. When we're brought back, we have a million more people in the ring, and JAMES STORM ELIMINATED! Scott Steiner hits Rellik with a belly-to-belly suplex, and high fives Booker T. ENTERS JUDAS MESIAS! CHRIS HARRIS ELIMINATED! Judas goes for Booker, and Steiner tries to eliminate Rellik. Black Reign takes a clothesline from Kaz, and ENTER KEVIN NASH! KAZ ELIMINATED! Nash drops Mesias with one punch, and Steiner tries to eliminate him. Young joins in, but Mesias just won't let go, and turns to eliminate Steiner! SCOTT STEINER ELIMINATED! ENTER ABYSS! Abyss military presses Mesias, and takes both of them out. JUDAS MESIAS AND ABYSS ELIMINATED! ENTER SAMOA JOE! Joe drops everyone in range, and punts Rellik. Booker charges at him, dropping him with an elbow, then starts dueling Rellik. ENTER CHRISTIAN CAGE! BOOKER T ELIMINATED! Looks like Reign punted Booker out. Kurt Angle comes out to try to cut off Cage, but Cage waits for it and jumps Angle. RELLIK ELIMINATED! BLACK REIGN ELIMINATED! As Nash eliminates both of them, security pulls apart Angle and Cage after Angle slams Cage spine first into the ringpost. Kevin Nash looks at Samoa Joe, being the last two. He shakes with Joe, and Nash eliminates himself! Cage hurries in and rolls up Joe for the win.
Winner: Christian Cage

Finally, at the Styles home again, AJ comes out of his room. He makes a commitment to Cage, then to Angle, and finally tells us he'll have his mind up at the PPV, and everyone needs to get out of his house. And we're finished.

ECW Results: 1/1/08

Right off the bat, we get to see clips from CM Punk/MVP. MVP was disqualified, and Chavo Guerrero randomly attacked Punk when he was down. Opening credits.

The General Manager, Armando Estrada, stands in the ring with a stick. He introduces Chavo, who comes to the ring. He takes the mic, and tells us he was injured by Rey Mysterio. While on the shelf, he watched ECW, and for some reason, CM Punk made him angry. Cue the champ. Punk comes out to the ring, steps inside, and STAREDOWN~! with Chavo! Punk gets a mic and points out how lame Guerrero's reasoning is. Chavo continues with lameness, but now says he wants a shot at the ECW Championship. CM Punk is up for the competition, but Estrada keeps them from fighting. He tells Chavo that he has to earn a title shot, by beating Punk in a non-title match. Commercials.

Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore w/ Kelly vs. John Morrison & The Miz w/ Layla
C'mon guys, do something new with Morrison already. We start with the ladies, and Layla slaps Kelly to the mat. Some fancy footwork later, and Kelly clotheslines Layla down. Cover for 2, but Miz trips Kelly up. Tag to Morrison, who tries a little crudely to seduce Kelly. Tag to Moore, who comes in with a crossbody and gets a 2 count. Top rope guillotine from Moore, followed by a few mounted punches. Tag to Miz, who hits the corner clothesline. Cover for 2, then a side facelock. Sleeperhold from Morrison, which turns into a rear chinlock and a suplex...but Moore reverses into a neckbreaker! Both men tag out, and Yang comes in with a headscissors takedown. Hurricanrana, followed by a flurry of rights and a running spin kick. Yang goes up top and hits a missile dropkick. Cover, but Morrison breaks it up. Moore dives in to take Morrison to the outside, and Layla runs in trying to attack Yang. Yang plants one on her, and as she looks disgusted, Kelly takes her out. Yang hits a moonsault onto Miz, and it's over.
Jimmy Wang Yang, Shannon Moore & Kelly def. The Miz, John Morrison & Layla
Yang motions that he's aiming for the titles soon, and they're telling us we'll see Yang & Moore get the title shot next week. Back to commercials.

Three minutes and thirteen seconds later, we're back to ECW. The jobber that Shelton Benjamin beat up two weeks ago is...back again!? That earns you a name, son. Tazz calls him "Colin Delaney", and so shall he be named. Tazz stands in the ring with him, asking him if he thinks he'll do better in his second match. Delaney says he's feeling confident, and Tazz introduces Big Daddy V.
Big Daddy V w/ Matt Striker vs. Colin Delaney
At the bell, Delaney looks like he's going to die. He puts up his fists, but backs toward the corner. He ducks a clothesline and gets in some chops, but V shoves him into the corner and chops him down to the mat before standing on him. Military press slam, followed by the Samoan Drop. Elbow drop, and it's over.
Big Daddy V squashes Colin Delaney
V leaves, and Delaney has yet to leave jobberville.

Cut to Shelton Benjamin doing the pre-commercial walk, and guess where we go?
Shelton Benjamin vs. a new jobber
For some reason, they choose now to show us an earlier session of Shelton talking about gold. When we're back in the ring, they lock up, and Shelton drops the jobber on his face before driving him into the corner and hitting the T-Bone suplex. He escapes a bodyslam attempt and rolls Shelton up for 1, then eats a clothesline. Stalling suplex, and a cover for 2. Rear chinlock, but jobber breaks out with a series of punches, almost earning him a name as well. Backbreaker from Shelton, followed by a rear naked choke. The jobber starts to break out, and fights to his feet! He gets a sunset flip off, but Shelton boots him in the face and pummels him down. Powerbomb into the corner, and Shelton hits the Snapshot. 3 count.
Shelton Benjamin squashes a jobber
Almost not a squash, but we were never really given the impression that Benjamin could lose this one.

Back from commercials, we're given a recap of the epic Triple H/Ric Flair battle from last night. They show pretty much the entire match, including where Regal punched Flair in the face to prevent Trips from entering the Royal Rumble.

Chavo Guerrero vs. CM Punk
The main event begins! These two lock up, and Punk shoves Chavo around until giving him an arm drag. Rear waistlock from Punk, but Chavo rolls through into an armbar. Headscissors counter from Punk, and Chavo escapes. Hammerlock from Chavo, and a reversal from Punk. Escape by Chavo, but he runs into a drop toe hold and starts to eat the chops. Hip toss from Punk, and more chops. Chavo tosses Punk into the corner, and after trading punches, is sent packing. Punk comes off the second rope with a crossbody and gets a 2. Commercial time.

Back! Punk is kicking Chavo around, but selling one of his knees. He goes back to work with his hands, until Chavo drops a few elbows on that knee. He moves from elbows to kicks until Punk falls. Cover for 2, and Chavo keeps up the work against the knee. Submission attempt, followed by a dropkick and an indian deathlock. Inverted STF, then a mexican stretch, but Punk just won't tap. He comes back with a back body drop, but Chavo pops back up and hits a chop block to the back of the knee. Continued blows to the knee until Punk gets Chavo with a spinning headscissors, and gets in a few kicks. Punk is limping outright, and gets plopped in the corner by Chavo. Slight pummeling, but Punk reverses and hits the KNEE to FACE in the corner. Bulldog, and a cover for 2. Chavo reverses an irish whip into a half crab, but Punk gets the ropes. Three Amigos, but after 2, Punk reverses into the Go to Sleep! Chavo struggles out, and both men tumble to the outside. Both men are up at 4, but Punk keeps Chavo out until 9, then punts him halfway up the entrance ramp before beating the count.

WWE Raw Results: 12/31/07

We begin New Year's Eve with a Randy Orton hype video, including all the head punting he's done. When we go live...Orton is in the ring. He's got a stick, and a new haircut. He hypes himself more, bragging about being the champ like we didn't know it already. He promises to remain champ for all of 2008...and enter the #1 contender, Jeff Hardy!

The crowd gets behind Hardy a LOT, and Hardy points out that Orton doesn't have any momentum, and we're shown the footage of Hardy getting a pinfall victory over the champ. Orton drops the names of John Cena, Shawn Michaels & Chris Jericho, and reminds us that he's "taken out" all three of them. He says momentum can take a quick turn, and goes for the RKO, but it's reversed into the Twist of Fate! Orton is down and out, and Hardy's momentum is INCREDIBLE!

We're given a brief reminder that if Ric Flair ever loses another match, he's fired, and Shawn Michaels does the pre-commercial walk. Followed by...commercials.

Coming back, Jeff Hardy talks to Matt backstage. Matt is totally pumped for Jeff's title shot, and jokingly hints at wanting the first shot if Jeff wins it. Back to the arena.

Ken Kennedy vs. Shawn Michaels
The bell rings, and these two lock up. Arm wrench from Michaels, into a chickenwing, until Kennedy powers out. Headlock takedown from Michaels, but Kennedy reverses out of it. Another lock up, and Michaels gets Kennedy in a side headlock. Bounce off the ropes, and Michaels gets in a hip toss. Arm bar, but Kennedy gets to his feet and drives Michaels to the corner. Kennedy pummels HBK and tries to whip him across the ring, but Michaels reverses. He slaps Kennedy's knee against the ring apron, then takes off Kennedy's knee pad. He works on the knee, getting Kennedy into a modified half crab. Kennedy gets the ropes, and Michaels releases.

A few traded right hands, and Kennedy spears HBK out of the ring! Both men fall outside, but Kennedy scrambles back inside immediately. Michaels climbs back in at 8, and Kennedy lays the boots to him. Commercial time. Back to see Kennedy still stomping at Michaels, and he NAILS a running kick across Michaels' face. Cover, and 2. Bodyslam from Kennedy, and he sells the leg a little before missing a clothesline, and MICHAELS USES THE CRIPPLER CROSSFACE! Kennedy breaks out pretty quickly, hits a few elbow drops, and covers again. Kennedy rams HBK into the corner and leaves him in the tree of woe, before propping him onto the top rope, but HBK knocks him to the mat! Kennedy pretty much no sells it and goes back after Michaels, before hitting a perfectly executed superplex to HBK. Cover...and 2.

He locks Michaels in a seated abdominal stretch, and Michaels escapes by elbowing Kennedy in the knee. Shoulderblock from Michaels takes Kennedy down, followed by an atomic drop. HBK starts to sell his back, but bodyslams Kennedy anyway, and misses the flying elbow. Roll up from Kennedy, but he only gets 2. Series of roll ups and counters all get close falls until Kennedy gets HBK in the fireman's carry. Michaels escapes and goes for the Sweet Chin Music, but Kennedy ducks and reverses with a version of the Complete Shot. 3 count.
Ken Kennedy def. Shawn Michaels
It's about time, I suppose...

In the back, Todd Grisham interviews Triple H about his match against Ric Flair. Trips is just beginning when Vince McMahon and William Regal literally bump into him. To make sure Triple H isn't considering laying down for Flair, if he loses tonight, they're taking him out of the Royal Rumble next month. Trips looks crazed, and we're back to commercial.

In the strangest thing I've seen in WWE since the oddities, Jillian Hall, Ron Simmons, and Big Dick Johnson sing about the New Year, then we're back with Vinnie Mac and Regal. McMahon talks Regal into being in a match against Hornswoggle. Regal makes sure Finlay won't be a factor, then agrees.

After more advertising opportunity, we're shown footage from the first ever Royal Rumble, which "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan won. And with Duggan mentioned, we move on to a Royal Rumble qualifier.
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan vs. Umaga
Wow. I don't think Duggan will be in the Rumble this year. Duggan charges in with some right hands, but takes a throat thrust and gets pummeled into the corner. As Duggan lies crumpled in the corner, Umaga goes for the butt splash, and nails it. He coughs some blood, and it's probably about time for him to retire. Samoan Spike, and the cover.
Umaga squashes Jim Duggan

Backstage suddenly, where Ric Flair is talking to Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly. McMahon interrupts and throws them out before talking to Flair. He tries to convince Flair that it's over tonight, and I've taken notice that Ric is where a D-X shirt. Not bad, Ric. Moving on, we're given a replay of how when Chris Jericho was half a second from becoming WWE champion, John Bradshaw Layfield interfered. They tell us JBL will be back on RAW next, and we're taking a break from it to see the good ol' commercials.

Well, we return, and JBL's limo pulls up. Bradshaw gets out and takes in the horrible reaction he's getting. He marches to the ring, and surprisingly, doesn't have a stick. He stands in the ring doing nothing for much, much too long, and pyro continuously goes off. Long after most of the fans are bored, JBL is still doing nothing, and his pyro is still firing. He finally gets a mic, and tells us to mark today as the day JBL returns. He says that everyone knows he doesn't have to be there, but he likes to own people. I wonder if WWE will take that as a racist comment. After I start to fall asleep, he's mericfully and suddenly interrupted by CHRIS JERICHO! Jericho brawls with JBL, staying on offense, until refs, road agents, and security break it up. JBL's sporting a mean slash across his nose, and doesn't look happy about it. They STAREDOWN~! through the arms of security, and we're back in commercial land.

Upon returning, they show us a great replay of Jericho knocking JBL stupid. Cut to JBL backstage screaming at the road agents and refs. He walks off after screaming about buying them, and we're...ug...moved on to a bimbos match.

WWE Women's Championship Match: Melina vs. Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix
The bell rings, and Melina shoves Mickie into Beth. Beth tries to force Mickie into a pin, but Mickie comes back with a few mounted punches. James turns to Melina, but Beth drops her on her face. Melina goes for the pin, but Beth pulls her off and prepares for a two handed chokeslam. Mickie breaks it up, and Mickie and Melina hit a double enziguri. They fight over who will get the pin, and start to trade blows. Neckbreaker from Mickie, but she gets thrown into the corner by Beth. Melina and Beth lock Mickie into a doubleteam submission before Beth throws both of them to the mat. Mickie tries to roll up Beth, and when she kicks out, Melina tries to roll up Mickie. Another kick out, and the two lightweights hurl Phoenix out of the ring. Mickie hits the MickieDT, but Beth breaks the pin, and chucks Mickie out. She gets Melina in a front facelock, then hits the Fisherman's Suplex. Cover, and 3 count, just before Mickie can break up the pin. That was close enough for me to wonder if it was a botch.
Beth Phoenix def. Melina & Mickie James to retain the WWE Women's Championship

More commercials, then Mr. McMahon comes to the ring with William Regal. Fighting time.
William Regal w/ Vince McMahon vs. Hornswoggle
Regal isn't even in wrestling attire, showing just how short this could be. Hornswoggle hugs McMahon before the match, and Regal offers a handshake. They shake, and the bell rings. Lock up of sorts, and Regal pushes Hornswoggle into the corner. Clean break, and another lock up. Regal roughly pushes the little man into the corner again, and takes him down to the mat. He feigns a big left hand, and McMahon's wondering why he isn't creaming the little man. McMahon calls Regal to the apron, gives him a stern talking to, and Hornswoggle jumps him from behind. McMahon tosses Regal the brass knuckles, but Regal can't bring himself to deliver the blow. He lets the little man go, and he runs to the back. McMahon comes in the ring now, slapping Regal across the face, telling him it was a test. McMahon gets in his face, but Regal turns and leaves dejectedly.
No contest
Odd segment, that one.

Jeff Hardy vs. Santino Marella w/ Maria & Carlito
This one starts with Hardy pumping the audience and pushing Santino into the corner. Clean break, and the crowd gets behind Hardy again. Arm drag to Santino, and Marella comes back with a few right hands before whipping Hardy across the ring and hitting a few mounted punches. Cover for 2. Jeff hits the wraparound lariat, a spinning mule kick, and the corner dropkick before climbing to the top rope...but suddenly Randy Orton is on the big screen! He punts Matt Hardy in the head right in front of us, and Jeff goes running to the back. We see Jeff at Matt's side in a matter of seconds, but Orton is nowhere to be found.
No contest

To commercial time and back. Triple H and Ric Flair stand backstage together in their wrestling gear. The Game is a little unsure how things may be after tonight, and Flair assures him that no matter what, they'll stay friends, but he expects a fight tonight. Things get a little heated, to the point where Triple H tells Flair to his face that he'll end his career tonight.

Triple H vs. Ric Flair
I sense a dusty finish. Flair goes in at Trips, taunting a bit, before dancing around "Woo"ing like crazy. Quick lock up, and Trips gets Flair in a hammerlock. Counter from Flair into a pin for 2. Triple H whips him into the ropes, and he stops himself. Triple H is starting to look like he's feeling guilty, but he drops Flair with a shoulderblock anyway. Lock up again, and HHH gets Flair in a side headlock. Flair escapes with a hip toss, and hits a knife edged chop before Triple H traps Ric in the corner. Flair reverses it, then backs off, but the Game nails him in the center of the face with a right hand. Rinse and repeat.

Flair is back in the corner, and they trade blows until the Nature Boy fights out, but the Game gets him with another shoulderblock. Knee drop to the face, then one to the back of the head, and HHH lifts him up again. Flair starts rolling with the chops, but Triple H catches him with the KNEE to FACE, and covers him for 2. In the corner yet again, and Triple H brings him out with a neckbreaker. Cover for 2 more, and Flair keeps trying with the chops. HHH whips him into the ropes and hits the spinebuster, but the crowd isn't liking this much at all. Flair stumbles up, and HHH goes for the Pedigree...but it's reversed into a backslide! Incredibly close cover, but the Game kicks out and traps Flair in a sleeperhold. The Nature Boy drops to his knees, but struggles back out...and suplexes Triple H! Trips shakes it off, and they're back to trading rights. Flair gets the upper hand, and drops Triple H to the mat with the chops! Double-arm suplex on Triple H, and HHH gets up into an elbow. Flair goes to the top rope, and dives off with a punch, I think. Cover for a close 2, and Flair gets the strut going. Knee drop, followed by the chops to the back of the knee of Triple H. Figure Four Leglock attempt, but Trips counters...and Flair counters back! Triple H is in the Figure 4! He's got nowhere to go! Triple H crawls for the ropes, but Flair pulls him back! Triple H toughs out the pain, and drags Flair across the ring to the ropes! Flair breaks the hold, and as soon as they stand, HHH hits the Pedigree! Flair is out, but Trips sells the knee from the Figure Four. Triple H crawls toward Flair...and William Regal slides in. He cheapshots the downed Flair, screwing the Game out of his Royal Rumble opportunity!
Ric Flair def. Triple H by DQ
Triple H helps Flair to his feet, angry, but not evil yet. They hug, and we fade to black.

TNA iMPACT Results: 12/27/07

Tonight begins with AJ Styles and Tomko in the back. Tomko scolds Styles more about his indecision between taking a side with either Kurt Angle or Christian Cage. They argue a bit, but nothing we haven't seen before. Opening credits.

Senshi vs. Judas Mesias w/ James Mitchell
The bell rings, and Mesias dives on Senshi, pounding him off of the turnbuckle, then stomping him on the mat. Mesias pummels him for a while, hits a double-handed chokeslam, and returns to the stomps. He bounces Senshi off the ropes, who comes back with a couple dropkicks and an enziguri. Senshi follows up with more kicks, then a back drop. He misses the Warrior's Way, and Mesias creams him with a clothesline. Straight to Hell. It's over.
Judas Mesias squashes Senshi

Backstage again, and Karen Angle walks in on J.B. and Kurt in a "compromising situation". J.B. goes back to interviewing duties, and asks Angle about Tomko and Styles. Angle says they've got to make their own decisions, and Karen interrupts going off about Sharmell. Quick cut to Christian Cage showing up, and we're at commercial.

Back! And in time to see Cage come out to the ring with a stick. He comes out of the dug-out by telling us how much he hates indecision. He's embraced greatness, and demands that Tomko and Styles come to the ring and let him know if they want to do the same. AJ Styles comes to the ring, but he's alone. Cage asks where Tomko is, and Styles has no idea. Cage moves on, repeating his former claim that Styles has gotten everywhere he has because of Christian Cage. He starts to beat on Kurt Angle, and Angle immediately comes to the ring with Karen. He gets on the stick, arguing with Cage, pointing out how Cage has used Styles. Cage and Angle both grab onto Styles and struggle with him until they go for each other. Cage tries to flatten Angle with the title belt, but misses and takes out Styles. Angle and Cage brawl, and Tomko runs out and breaks it up. Back to commercial.

Booker T and Sharmell do the pre-commercial walk after we come back. How odd. Before the universe implodes, they cut to Robert Roode. Roode plays the "has-been" card, but gets cut-off by Ms. Brooks. Roode gives her the verbal beat-down, and we move on.

Robert Roode w/ Ms. Brooks vs. Booker T w/ Sharmell
Karen Angle rushes the ring before the bell and takes Sharmell down. Booker T breaks it up, but Kurt Angle comes down and rolls Booker into the ring. Roode and Angle stomp Booker down until Booker rolls out of the ring and grabs a chair. Roode and Angle back off, and Booker grabs a mic, challenging them to a tag match later, and we're back to the "mystery partner" angle.
No contest

Backstage again, Styles is being interviewed by J.B. Styles is broken up about what to do, and has a heart-to-heart with J.B. Styles is still trying to convince himself that Cage and Angle can work together. J.B. eventually leaves, and they bring us back to commercial.

Coming back, we get a montage for the Team 3D/Johnny Devine & Motorcity Machineguns/Jay Lethal feud.

AJ Styles & Tomko vs. Motorcity Machineguns
We start with Styles and Shelley, and Styles is nursing his head a little. They lock up, and Shelley gets a headlock in. Styles reverses to an arm wrench, and Shelley turns it around. Belly-to-back suplex from Styles, but Shelley gets an armdrag into a slingshot elbow drop. Tag to Sabin, and Tomko comes in to get doubleteamed. He rolls out of the ring, and now Styles gets it. Shelley covers for 2, and Tomko comes in to give him a fallaway slam. Back to commercial.

When we come back, Eric Young is out there for some reason. Chris Sabin sweeps Tomko, then hits Styles with a springboard clothesline. Spinning powerbomb from Sabin and a cover for 2. Tomko breaks it up, then kills Sabin with a right hand. Shelley pulls him to the outside and slams him against the guard rail. Sabin hits a NASTY springboard spinning DDT, and Shelley hits a Frogsplash. Cover for 2, and Shelley dives outside onto Tomko. Styles hits the Paylay on Sabin and tries for the Styles Clash, but Young tries to tell him who to pick in the Cage/Angle situation. MCM sneaks up and gets Styles in a doubleteam pin for the finish.
Motorcity Machineguns def. AJ Styles & Tomko

Team 3D is in Jim Cornette's office with Johnny Devine, complaining about being in an Ultimate X match. They grab hold of him, and Matt Morgan throws them off. Cut to Gail Kim, Angelina Love, and Velvet Sky doing the pre-commercial walk. Advertising follows.

Gail Kim/Awesome Kong hype video.
Roxxi Laveaux, Jackie Moore & ODB vs. Angelina Love, Velvet Sky & Gail Kim
This time, we start with Kim and Moore. Rear waistlock from Kim, but Moore struggles out and pummels her with a series of knees. Arm drag from Kim, and ODB is tagged in. Arm wrench from Kim, and a tag to Sky. Running kick to the spine, followed by a basement dropkick. Headscissors takedown, and Sky tries a crossbody. ODB catches her, but Love comes in and they doubleteam ODB. Tag, and ODB tosses Love into the corner. Roxxi stomps away at her, and Moore is tagged in. Bodyslam from Moore, followed by a few forearms strikes. Tag to Roxxi, who hits a back body drop. 2 count, and hits a running elbow. Attempted Voodoo Slam, but Love escapes and Superkicks Roxxi. Enziguri, and Love tags in Kim. ODB hits the ring, and Kim takes both women down. Moore runs in now, but takes a neckbreaker.

All six women begin to brawl, with all but Roxxi and Kim spilling to the outside. Powerbomb from Roxxi, and a cover, but Kim kicks out at 2. Roxxi lifts her for the Voodoo Slam, but Gail Kim reverses into a SCHWEIN! Brutal finish, and it's over.
Gail Kim, Velvet Sky & Angelina Love def. Roxxi Leveaux, ODB, & Jackie Moore

We go backstage to Cornette's office again, and the boss is chewing Matt Morgan out. Morgan shows off the big checks they got for his matchmaking, and Cornette starts to calm down...Enter Samoa Joe. Joe decides he doesn't want to wrestle tonight, and Cornette tells him he either goes out to fight, or leaves, because he'll be fired. Joe considers his options and walks back out of Cornette's office. Ad time.

Recorded interview time. Mike Tenay sits with Abyss, asking him about what James Mitchell is trying to get him to spill. They have a brief argument over Abyss' parents, and Abyss claims that he was raised by his mother, not his father. Abyss is adamant about never telling his secrets...maybe we need Sting to come back and talk to him again.

Elix Skipper vs. Samoa Joe
Joe stomps out in his street gear, stomps Skipper into the mat, and scoopslams him. Pin for 1, then traps Skipper in the corner. Skipper whips him into the corner and tries for a monkey flip, but Joe reverses into the Muscle Buster. Skipper fights him off, then walks along the top rope. Joe crotches him, then hits the Muscle Buster. Cover, but Joe pulls him up at 2. He puts Skipper in the Tree of Woe, and attacks, and when the ref tries to pull him away, Joe chucks him across the ring.
Elix Skipper def. Samoa Joe by DQ
Joe beats on Skipper a bit longer before getting him in the Rear Naked Choke. Security comes out to break it up, and Joe grabs a stick. He tells Cornette that Skipper is Cornette's own fault. He'll continue to beat on people until he gets what he wants. He begins a rant on TNA management, but they cut his mic.

In the back, Eric Young and AJ Styles sit at a table discussing options. Young goes on a tangent about food and cell phones, and Styles finally gets overwhelmed and leaves. More ad time.

Backstage again! Scott Steiner and Petey Williams argue over the TNA Heavyweight Title shot. Steiner demands his case back, but Williams isn't giving in. We're out in the ring now, with Dustin Rhodes. He gets on the stick, asking Kaz to come out and explain why he jumped Rhodes last week. Immediately, here comes Kaz. Kaz gets in the ring, and once on the stick, tells us he hates rats. Rhodes tells us he doesn't know any rat, and that he was just here trying to get a job. He asks Kaz to apologize, but Kaz refuses. Rhodes slaps him, and Kaz dropkicks him out of the ring. Brawl to the outside, and as it spills across the audience, we're backstage again.

AJ Styles asks Kevin Nash for advice. Nash doesn't give anything specific, so Styles is still really on his own. Back to commercial land for a while, and we come back to see a montage of some of the big moments from 2007.

Robert Roode w/ Ms. Brooks & Kurt Angle vs. Booker T & Christian Cage
That was a swerve. Cage hits the ring, clearing out Angle and Roode, then gets on the apron. Angle comes in, and they lock up. Clean break, and they begin to trade blows. Running elbow from Booker drops Angle, and he tags Cage. Tag to Roode, and Cage knocks him to the corner with some chops. Roode gets in a lariat, and tags Angle. Angle goes to Cage with a couple knees, and AJ Styles comes to the ring...but it's commercial time!

Back to see Angle get Cage in the Ankle Lock, but Cage rolls out. Angle tags Roode, but booker gets tagged as well. He drops Angle and Roode with kicks, then actually does a spinerooni. Book End to Roode, and cover, but Angle breaks it up. Booker takes Roode out of the ring as Angle and Cage brawl, each reversing the other's finisher. Styles grabs a chair, looking to hand it off, but tosses it to the floor and walks away. Cage pummels Angle into the corner, but Roode hits Cage with a low-blow. They attempt a spike piledriver, but Booker knocks Angle to the outside. Ax Kick/Unprettier combo, and it's over.
